Biblical Discipleship

I have been an active Christian born again since 1975, and I have been actively involved in working for the Kingdom both inside and outside the church since that day. Developing this course has been of great help to me, it has given me a greater understanding of discipleship and its cost, it has revealed more of the Father to me, it has helped in my daily discipline, but above all it has revealed to me just how important I am to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

That my faith and my relationship with Jesus is a reality and not a figment of my imagination.

Discipleship = is an ongoing process and its meaning and relevance to our lives will change as we change but its importance will always be there. Discipleship was both the first (Mk. 1 v 14 -18) And the last (Jn. 21 v 19) call of Jesus to the twelve, and ultimately to us.

Discipleship = affects everything. Jesus not only discipled the spiritual bits of his followers but every part of their lives. Thoughts, desires, ambitions, emotions, fears, temptations, speech, behaviour, anger, family life, home, money. He desires to be in charge of all these things with us as well.

Discipleship = is always a focus on the person not the ministry. Your relationship with Him is far more important to Him than anything you can do for Him, although we very often get so busy doing our time in prayer and meditation goes out the window.

This course will, I hope, help you to develop your relationship with God and identify your ministry and for all to take their place in the extension of Gods kingdom. Ultimately the aim has to be that we can fulfil the first and greatest commandment: (Mt. 22 v 36), that we love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul and with all our mind. Putting Him first and foremost in our daily lives.
